Members’ Meeting on 21st September 2010
How to survive the impending cutbacks

This is a meeting you can’t afford to miss!

Held at the YMCA Conference Centre in High Wycombe, it starts at 2pm prompt and we have two speakers, Rachael Rothero, Services Manager Strategic Commissioning for Bucks CC, and Jo-Ann Woolf from Carers Bucks.

Rachael will explain the financial challenges facing Bucks CC. There will be substantial cutbacks across the whole care sector and MKB Care's aim is to facilitate ways for the Council and care providers to work together to identify smarter ways of working to achieve efficiences and protect all our businesses.

Jo-Ann will be talking about the role of family carer in a fast-changing society. Carers Bucks supports family carers to access domiciliary care via their bursary fund and Jo-Ann gives training to domiciliary and nursing care staff to help them understand family carers' issues.

With insolvencies in the health and social care sector up by 49% in the first half of this year following council spending cuts, the latest government figures show that health and social care is one of the worst-hit areas. Go to http://www.carenewstoday.co.uk/index.php?node=care-providers-going-bust-doubles to read more about these figures.

Attendance is by booking ONLY and all bookings MUST be sent to Susie Bell (either by post or e-mail susie.bell@mkbcare.org, please) as soon as possible. Places are limited and interest will be high.
